International Book week is an introduction for children to the wonderful world of books.  This was originally organised by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and is celebrated in over 100 countries across the world.

The main aim of World Book Day in the UK and Ireland is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own.  The origins of the day which we now celebrate in the UK and Ireland started from Catalonia, where roses and books were given as gifts to loved ones on St. George’s Day, this is a tradition started over 90 years ago.

On March 1st 2012 World Book Day will take place with the UK and Ireland.  This is a major event within schools, for Teachers and the Children all participating and dressing up as a character from a wide selection of books.

At Party Tracker, let us help you out with the wide choice of adult and children's fancy dress. We can take the stress from your busy life and if you hate sewing, it's best to visit our website and choose from a wide and varied selection of fancy dress costumes from a boys fancy dress Robin Hood or Peter Pan costume to a girls fancy dress red riding hood costume and we even have a range of costumes for toddlers.
